Recently, Alinity has been in Twitch news due to unceremoniously throwing a cat during gameplay on Twitch. The clip went viral and eventually reached Ricky Gervais and PETA, who advocated against her on grounds of animal abuse.
Everywhere I go I see top upvoted threads that Alinity deserves a ban on Twitch. Accompanying these threads are the constant allegations that Twitch is playing favorites with Alinity, that she slept with someone on staff, etc.
We need to dispel these myths so we can focus on an actual conversation about Twitch's banning policy and enforcement. I explain the Alinity situation in this video and advocate for a cleaner conversation with Twitch about their overall enforcement of Terms of Service.
It's okay to be mad about decisions Twitch makes, but we should do it with the understanding that communicating in the way we have been about the Alinity situation isn't going to open up any doors to a solution. We need a better conversation around the topic of enforcement. That happens by understanding the issues with Twitch enforcement, and that's why I made this video.
