The content in this video we have learned from #producer Donald M (aka. Donnie Allan) from Dragon Rock Productions LLC in Indiana, all the credit for this incredibly useful trick goes to him.
What we want to do is increase the projection of this electric piano in the stereo field using #Waves OneKnob Pumper. For this we will use OneKnob Pumper (MONO) which will insert two #plugins in the same track, one for each channel (L and R).
Now we are going to deselect the blue infinity symbol which will allow us to visualize the plugin assigned to each channel separately and apply different settings in each one of them.
Now we select each of the L and R channels and increase the effect close to the maximum.
So far the two channels are still affected equally as if it were a common stereo insert, so to create the difference we simply have to change the RATE of only one of the two channels. Another variant could be to leave the same RATE in both channels and change OFFSET in one of them.
If your DAW does not allow DUAL MONO inserts all you have to do is duplicate the track or split the stereo track into two mono tracks (L and R) and insert OneKnob Pumper in each of them and change the RATE or OFFSET in one of the two.
This trick provides a good opportunity to convert monophonic tracks into stereo without the risk of incurring in phase problems or other artifacts related to traditional methods for stereo field expansion.
