SCIENTISTS IN JAPAN DEVELOP A WEARABLE ROBOT WITH 6 ARMS IN A FIRST STEP TOWARDS A CYBORG FUTURE
Japanese researchers at the University of Tokyo have developed “Jizai Arms”, wearable robotic limbs designed to give people extra sets of arms as both a practical tool and a futuristic fashion statement.
The system, inspired by traditional articulated figurines called Jizai Okimono, is worn like a backpack with six sockets that can be fitted with different types of robotic arms. These arms are hot-swappable and c an be controlled in real time by the wearer or remotely by another person.
