What is Skewness? - The Normal Distribution
The normal distribution is incredibly important for engineering statistics. The two parameters that are used to define the distribution are the mean and standard deviation. If the mean and standard deviation are known, the expected distribution can be used to make many assertions about the data, but in real life the data probably never follow the expected distribution exactly. Sometimes, the data is skewed left or right, but what does that mean? What is skewness in the normal distribution?
