Easy DIY Colored Wood Stain
I'll show you a quick & easy way to make your own colored stain to give your wood projects a big pop of color unlike any regular gray & brown stains you find at the hardware store. It's really simple to make and looks awesome!
I used a simple ratio of 1 part water-based acrylic paint (regular house/wall paint) to 2 parts water. Mix it thoroughly, so there's no paint clumps, and brush or wipe it on your wood. Then, take a rag and wipe any excess stain off if you don't want the color to be too saturated... and that's it! I'd also recommend coating it with some polyurethane, furniture wax, clear lacquer, etc to lock in the color and protect the finish.
