Teachers in Maryland, US, explain the benefits of environmental education. In 2011, Maryland became the first US state to require students to be environmentally literate as a high school graduation requirement.
Results from this pioneering regulation point to positive school-wide changes in knowledge, behaviour and action and broad improvements in student’s learning outcomes.
