The new Risk of Rain 2 Hidden Realms update is a large update from December 2019 now available for PC and upcoming for console, adding loads of new content including two new hidden realm stages, the new Acrid survivor and loads more.

In this Risk of Rain 2 Hidden Realms update video, we see how to unlock Acrid, which requires you to find the Null Portal in the Bazaar Between Worlds and complete a challenge in the new Void Fields hidden realm.
Using the Mercenary to play the first stage, spend a lunar coin at the newt altar and open a blue portal, we drop down below the bazaar, enter a mineshaft and locate the null portal. Inside the new Void Fields stage, we have nine cells to charge up, with enemies getting harder (and being given the power of random items) as we go. Surviving all nine encounters unlocks the Acrid survivor.
We also see how the Void Fields will hurt you constantly whenever you are outside a cell 'oxygen' bubble, which disappears once the cell is charged.
