In April I went to London for the city's Games Festival. I only went there on the last day so I missed most of the events, but I managed to attend the Games Culture Summit at the Museum of London, with the presence of curators from several museums who are (finally!) starting to collect and exhibit videogames, and also critics and developers. I went to several other museums around London, finding games here and there: videogame-based exhibits at the Science Museum, an earthenware gaming tray and a book illustration from 1736 of courtesans playing Go at the V&A, dice and counters at the British Museum. Then I met my friend Joana to celebrate her birthday, and filmed her at the Mad Hatter as I gave her the gifts I'd bought together with our group of friends. We really do give the best gifts. Then we decided to search for a place to have dinner, and we were laughing through the icy wind walking along the Thames. I could barely see what I was filming with so many tears in my eyes and running down my face, and the wind kept trying to knock my camera off my hands. I succeeded in holding on to it just enough to get footage so shaky that it might make people throw up, and if that doesn't show on the final video, you have the editing software to thank for that.
