To learn about more about the glass ceiling, Sibile went to the Executive Women of New Jersey Gala Thursday at the Hilton East Brunswick.
Michellene Davis is the executive vice president and chief corporate affairs officer at RWJ Barnabas Health.
"Oftentimes women are not necessarily recruited for those top positions because quite frankly they're not on the radar of those actually conducting the search," Davis said.
Dorothy Bolinsky, who is a partner at Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, described other factors.
"In a competitive market, you're competing with women that aren't having childbearing years or men that don't necessarily have the same responsibilities at home. ... Your time is a huge component of your evaluation. That's a factor," Bolinsky said.
