Sliding joint, expansion joint. What for? What a waste of time.
A sliding joint, or expansion joint, is a controlled crack.
Why are connections between plasterboard and elements, such as solid ones, called a sliding joint? Why is it worth making this type of connection? I make a sliding joint regardless of whether the plasterboard has a free end on the UD profile or is attached to it (screwed). PVC or paper separation tapes can be used to create expansion joints. These are available from manufacturers of interior drywall systems such as Knauf, Norgips, Siniat, and Rigips.
