Galaxy A70 Screen Replacement | How-To Guide | Internal Review
In this video I'll show you how to disassemble and replace the digitizer and OLED panel for the Galaxy A70. The replacement screen comes in two options, one with a frame and one without. Removing the screen from the frame is a bit tedious, so I typically order the parts that include the frame. The prices shown on screen are from two different vendors, MobileSentrix and Injured Gadgets, so your price mileage may vary.
Big thanks to anders mtb for recommending the A71, and if one does end up coming in to my shop I'll be sure to compare these two devices. The A70 is very similar but has a slightly different layout internally. The repair itself is pretty easy and doesn't require specialized tools. The only part not shown was removing the back panel, which I usually use a heatgun or heat pad to soften the adhesive, then some alcohol to loosen it as I slide a metal pry tool around the edges. The panel is entirely cosmetic and has no ribbons attached to it.
The Galaxy A70 is geared toward being a more budget friendly device, but definitely doesn't skimp out on features. With its large 6.7" display, 4500mAh battery, and triple camera array it certainly doesn't look or act like a midrange phone. Despite a lot of adhesive, the device does not have an official IP water/dust resistance rating. This phone can probably survive a couple splashes, but definitely not one you want to go swimming with. Considering the number of water damaged flagship phones I repair, including the latest Galaxy S20 and iPhone 11 series, you should never trust the water resistance and just avoid liquid if at all possible.
