"2001: A Space Odyssey" stargate sequence first tribute | The tubular slit scan: Stardust
In 1968, Douglas Trumbull created the Stargate sequence for Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey". He used a technique called slit scan.
This video doesn't try to reproduce this technique but its result. In this case, the result is far away from perfection but it's a first attempt to recreate something similar but in a different way: a journey through a tubular slit scan instead of two walls. And using digital techniques.
