Just a few months ago, no one knew who Ekaterina Duntsova was. Today, she is a true political star, a candidate for peace, the president of the future we weren't allowed to choose.
In November 2023, Ekaterina decided to run for president of the Russian Federation. In a matter of days, she became more popular than many opposition politicians. Thousands of people were ready to vote for an unknown journalist from the Tver region. But the Central Election Commission decided that Russia didn't need a candidate for peace.
We visited Moscow and Rzhev with Ekaterina, talking about what a head of state should be like, as well as the fears and risks facing an independent candidate for this post.
