For Hemant Chhabra Hide Out is more than just organic farm, it's the natural lifestyle he's been living for decades. Inspired by traditional tribal wisdom he lives his life in communication with nature. The eco-cottages he built in Hide Out, Maharashtra India are filled with antique furniture, materials from master craftsmen and reused items. They have no windows, only curtains for privacy.
You only realise how inventive and resourceful people are once you see lanterns being made from cow dung and mud, wedding sari being used for a window or an old wardrobe being converted into a door.
Other accommodation options at the Hide Out included mud house, brick house or camping out under an open sky which I have experienced for one night. I must confess that I have spent the other two indoors. Despite having a net I still found mosquitoes little overpowering and mattress too hard to sleep on. The owner of the farm Hemant Chhabra only sleeps outdoors when without a family and he loves it! To him, it's about being one with nature.
