How to Install a Printer in Arch Linux!
This video is about how to install a printer in Linux, specifically Arch Linux.
Step by Step, How to install an HP Printer in Linux specifically by the way in Arch:
1. sudo pacman -S cups gutenprint cups-pdf gtk3-print-backends nmap
2. sudo systemctl enable org.cups.cupsd.service
3. sudo systemctl start org.cups.cupsd.service
4. reboot
5. type in: ip addr show
this will check your ip number
6. use your IP address to find your printer with nmap: sudo nmap -sP “your IP address with last digits replaced with zero”/24
7. Example: sudo nmap -sP 192.168.0.0/24
Use the IP address of your printer as descibed in the video.
8. Go to printers and add the network printer.
9. If the printer is added, print a test page and start praying to the printing gods that it comes out.
