Audi 100. Golden Haze. No. 24. Fuel Tank Replacement
Shortly after repairing the fuel sensor, literally a couple of days later, the fuel tank started leaking. Considering I like to keep it full, it must have leaked more than half. I had a fuel tank, so while I was preparing it, the fuel was leaking.
Inspecting the fuel tank.
Angle grinder and brush.
Checking for leaks after cleaning.
Seal the leaks.
Treat with zinc oxide.
Seal the seams and corrosion spots.
Paint the fuel tank.
Line it with a lining to prevent it from rubbing against the body.
Replacing the fuel tank.
Disconnect the top, remove the fastener at the bottom, and remove the tank.
Reinstall the intake manifold and connecting rubber.
Install the fuel tank.
Install the filler neck, secure the tank, connect the fuel lines, and the fuel sensor.
