Gabbard accuses Obama officials of fabricating intelligence during 2016 election interference probe
The Justice Department confirmed Monday that it received Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard's criminal referral related to her claims Obama-era officials manufactured intelligence, claiming Russia tried to influence the 2016 presidential election. Gabbard told Fox News Sunday that the implications of these findings are nothing short of historic.
The documents claim there was no evidence of Russia's interference. But at former President Barack Obama's request, intelligence community leaders were tasked with creating a new assessment, detailing the tools Moscow used and actions it took to influence the 2016 election.
Among those named in the documents, then Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper. Former National Security Advisor Susan Rice. Former Secretary of State John Kerry and former CIA Director John Brennan, who is now under criminal investigation for potentially lying to Congress about the decision to examine claims in a Steele dossier, alleging coordination between the Russian government and the Trump campaign.
