Welcome back to Guide with Samuel! Today, I’ll show you how to insert a formula in a Notion database so you can automate calculations, manipulate data, and create smarter workflows.
Step-by-step:
Open your Notion database.
Hover over the property (column) where you want the formula.
Click Add Property → Formula.
Enter your formula using Notion’s formula syntax (e.g., prop("Amount") * 0.2).
Click Done to apply the formula across the column.
Pro tip: Use formulas to calculate totals, dates, progress percentages, or conditional outputs.
