Revolutionary pick up camper with elevating roof! Laske expedition
This is a vehicle pick up system by Laske Expedition of Germany. The pickup cabins can be assembled by one or two people in a few simple steps within 20 minutes - or so they say, it would probably take me hours. For those that are more practically minded, remove the loading platform, which is fastened with six screws, put on the pickup cabin and fasten it again with the original screws. The cabin can be moved and slid onto the base vehicle using the four included, rollable jacks. This means that the pickup can become a normal, non camping vehicle and can continue to be used in everyday life.
The habitation area is equipped with a parallel lifting roof. With an external height of only 240 centimeters, this ensures compact dimensions and a low center of gravity while driving. Even narrow forest paths with low-hanging branches are no problem. When extended, the interior offers 220cm standing height - a generous feeling of space and a lot of comfort.
The habitation cabins have solid outer walls, which ensure heat and noise insulation. A diesel heater, can keep the inside warm.
The habitation cabin is compatible with many modern pickups such as Ford Ranger, VW Amarok, Toyota Hilux, Mercedes X Class, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi L200 and probably others.
Weight of the living cabin is only 600 kg, leaving 400 kg payload up to a gross vehicle weight of 3.2 t. The vehicle can also be put on a 3,500kg basis.
