This scene is from the Australian dark comedy sketch Kid In Cockpit from The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting (2013). Joshua’s parents only want to give him a sweet birthday surprise by letting him visit the cockpit because he loves airplanes. In a normal story, this would be a wholesome moment where the captain shows a kid the controls. But when the flight attendant opens the door, the cockpit has already been taken over, the captain is down, and everything is wrong. The most disturbing joke is that the hijacker does not simply send Joshua away. After hearing it is his birthday, he lets the boy sit forward, hold the controls, and slowly guides him toward a stadium. The comedy works because Joshua thinks he is living his dream, while the audience understands the nightmare hiding underneath.
