If you’re failing just like me to increase or decrease the brightness of your screen or sound on your hp computer whether it’s desktop or laptop. I get this pop-up warning window whenever I press the function key on my keyboard to increase the brightness.
The error says: HP Hotkey UWP Service
HP Software Framework is not installed in the system
For manual installation please download and install from the link - ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-soft-softpaq/cmit/softpasq/CASLSetup.exe
Note: restart system after installation
I have tried the above link but it doesn't work. So to solve the issue, you must install a hp support assistant from the official website HP.
Step #1 – download the driver (hp support assistant)
Open your internet browser and to the URL and type hp.com/go/hpsupportassistant. You can also land on this website by searching hp support assistant in Google.
Click on the download and the download will start immediately, no registration required.
Step #2 – installation
Once your download is finished, go to your download files. The file from hp website is called sp99450. Then double click or right-click on your mouse and click on open/run as administrator and start the installation. Follow all the steps to install.
Step #3 – check if the error is solved after installation
Try to increase or decrease the brightness of your screen. Press and hold the function key plus another key on your computer to increase or decrease the brightness. If you see changes in the brightness on your screen, then the error is solved and you will not get the same error window again.
