In the video I have explained about the difference between Static IP addresses and Dynamic IP Addresses.
BOOTP generally assign Static IP Addresses to machines, It means each and every machine is given one permanent IP Address.
We have limited IP Addresses. If a machine is given a permanent IP address But it is not active on the internet. That means our IP address is getting wasted and we have a limited number of IP addresses.
To resolve the problem, the concept of DHCP is introduced. DHCP assign dynamic IP addresses to machine. whenever a machine is active on the internet , that time only we assign vacant IP address to the machine. Every time when machine is active on the internet, a different IP address is assigned to machine. So that we can utilize the available IP addresses.
But, all the servers which are continuously active on the internet, they are assigned static IP addresses.
