David Heinemeier Hansson is the creator of the well-known open-source web framework called Ruby on Rails, which has been the backbone for many well-known applications such as, Github, Shopify, AirBnB, Square, and many more. In 2005, David H. Hansson received the "Hacker of the Year" award from Google and O'Reilly for his creation of Ruby on Rails. Alongside his production of Rails, Hansson co-founded a web-based project management application called Basecamp, which he eventually became the CTO of. This year, David and his team at Basecamp launched a revolutionary new way of viewing email called HEY. He is also best-selling author, and an early adopter of remote work.
