In this deep dive tutorial we take an introductory look at Cisco's Express Forwarding (CEF) along with two (2) of its predecessors, Process Switching and Fast Switching. We then go deep dive into the Forwarding Information Base (FIB) and the Adjacency Table to see how they are seeded and how CEF utilizes these data structures to make forwarding a snap! We configure IPv6 CEF and compare an d contrast CEF for IPv4 and IPv6. Enjoy!
