Today we’re checking out the Soundcore Sleep A10’s. A pair of sleep buds from Soundcore that do much more than you may think to help you get a better nights sleep, including having the ability to play your own music or podcasts, in addition to having a broad range of soothing sounds to choose from and customise in the excellent accompanying app. Today I will share my experience testing the using the Sleep A10s for the past 10 nights. Coming in at just 3 grams each, the Sleep A10’s are the lightest and also smallest sleep earbuds I have seen yet. This small design is crucial for something that you’re meant to wear for ideally 8 hours straight - during a full night’s sleep. The A10’s have this matte white finish looks sleek. The charge case for the Sleep A10’s is a bit bigger than your usual charge case, like for example that of the Liberty 4’s we looked at earlier, but for sleep buds that is ok as these are meant to stay on your night stand. The charge case has the same matte white design and familiar Soundcore sliding top - satisfying to use. The charge case has subtle LED lights inside, just bright enough to see the buds at night. On the back of the case is the USB-C port to charge, works great. Unfortunately no wireless charging though. In terms of battery life, two modes. Music mode: 6h. Sleep mode: 10h. Charge case: 41h (big battery inside). The sleep buds use a combination of ear tips and wing tips, I suggest you try all the sizes it comes with and mix and match to find the fit that is best for you. The Sleep A10’s use a 4-Point Noise Masking System, that uses passive noice cancelling to block out outside noise. This works surprisingly well, performing similarly to an average pair of ANC equipped earbuds. You can see the Sleep A10’s sit very flush with my ears and don’t stick out like normal earbuds. With a pillow pushed up to your ear, the Sleep A10’s do not feel in the way whatsoever. In the app is a large library of sounds to choose from to help you fall asleep. The app has curated playlists for different occasions. These sounds are nice to have not just when sleeping, but I also found it to help me focus while working during the day. While working I liked the birds in the rain sounds, allowing me to focus while also blocking out outside noise. For sleeping, the rain sound has become my go to, something cozy about having convincing rain sounds playing subtly in the background. My favourite feature of the A10’s, compared to other sleep buds from Bose or Amazfit, is that the Sleep A10’s also act as bluetooth earbuds, meaning you can play your music and watch videos - making them very versatile. That way if you want to fall sleep to your own music or audio book or podcast, you can use the A10’s. Considering the size, I was impressed by the sound quality, with decent bass and some sub-bass. One of the benefits of being able to operate as both bluetooth earbuds and sleep earbuds, is you can use the Sleep A10’s before bed to watch a video or listen to some music, then when you turn your phone off and go to sleep you don’t need to change buds, just keep the A10’s in and go to sleep. At $179 these come at a price. But if you struggle with noise, or benefit from having your music or soothing sounds while you sleep, in a pair of sleep buds that are comfortable to wear all night, even if you sleep on your side, then you really cant put a price on a better night’s sleep.
