Hi, this is Linus from TechLineHD and in this video we are looking at the video doorbell intercom solution made by 1byone.
UNBOXING
This video doorbell intercom comes in a neat packaging and once you open it up, you will find everything you need to install it.
It includes a 7” monitor, outdoor intercom unit with a little roof, 15m of cable, a charging plug, a bunch of screws and instruction manuals.
DESIGN
The Monitor
The design of the monitor is really premium as it has an aluminium alloy finish.
All the controls are placed on the right side. There you can find a speaker grill, camera, door unlock and end call buttons, which have a great tactile response and the microphone.
In addition, the right side has some more controls and here you adjust the brightness, chroma, colour tone, volume and change a ringtone.
The Intercom
The intercom unit is also made out of metal and it is well made and sturdy. Also, it is waterproof and has anti-oxidation coating.
It has just one button to make a call, a speaker grill, microphone and infrared lights for a night vision feature. Last but not least a little hole on the left side is where a secret camera is embedded
INSTALLATION
Installation of this video doorbell intercom system is pretty straightforward but you have to connect the wires that come out of the included 15m cable correctly to make it work.
I will start by connecting the wires to the intercom unit. All you have to do is to press down a little lock and insert a particular colour wire by wire.
This is how it should look like once all the wires are connected.
Once you’ve done that, you need to connect the wires that come out of the other end of the cable to the monitor. Here is the same story, just follow the order of the colours and you are almost done.

The last thing you wanna do is to power up the unit and your video intercom system is ready to use.
MOUNTING
The Video Intercom Unit
Before you start using it you have to choose a right spot for the video intercom unit. A great thing is that I already have a little box mounted inside the wall and it turns out that it is a right fit for the 1byone unit.
In case you don’t want to mount inside the wall, you can just use a couple of included screws to mount it outside the wall. The included little roof is optional as the intercom unit if fully waterproof.
The Monitor
Next up is the monitor, which should be mounted indoors but this time around I’m just going to mount it on another side of the fence… and… I will be talking to myself again...
But before you talk to yourself or someone else, what you have to do is just to screw the mounting bracket into the selected place of the wall and simply mount the monitor on it.
Once you’ve done with that the whole installation process is done and your home just got smarter…. and more secure… more convenient… and yeah, it has just changed my life dramatically...
Just don’t tell anyone that there is a camera on the intercom unit and I bet no one will notice that, which is I believe a key feature of this system.
CONCLUSIONS
All in all, the 1byone video doorbell intercom system is a great solution for those, who want to see who’s ringing the bell as the little camera sensor provides you with a decent video quality and brightens up the scene very well in the darkness. In addition, it will also work fine at night as the night vision feature turns on automatically.
Also, the sound quality is good enough to make a clear conversation.
Lastly, both monitor and video intercom units have a premium metal design, which are not only good looking, but are also said to be vandal-proof. Well, the intercom unit is not indestructible but the build quality is really good.
