The recording of the network programmability stream which occurred on 2019/12/15

On this stream I was exploring GitHub Actions - CI/CD from GitHub and was migrating one of my open-source libraries from GitLab CI to GitHub Actions. While I had some challenges adapting to a new workflow and new syntax, but they were overcome quite fast. Even though GitHub is quite late in the game (GitLab had robust CI/CD for ages), I was quite impressed how powerful and flexible the product is. It has more event triggers (which are also much more granular), supports matrices, has proper protection of environment variables (not leaked via PR from forks) and many other interesting features. Their pricing model is also quite nice: free for public projects + free (but limited) tier for private repositories. Honestly, sounds like a no brainer to me and I will continue migrating my GitHub projects from GitLab CI to GitHub Actions.
Very well done by GitHub and Microsoft! I can recommend.
