Selling your photos on Shutterstock – it may not be worth your time!
Do you want to make money selling your photos online? Are you wondering if Shutterstock is a good idea for selling your stock photos? I made a Shutterstock account and tried to sell some photos over an 8-month period and now I can report to you how Shutterstock has worked for me. Shutterstock is nice and all but in this video I argue that trying to sell photos on Shutterstock is not the best idea. It will take you quite a bit of effort but the returns are very small. Until recently it was not very bad because the more you sold the more you started to earn per photo. But now that this system was changed and your sales counters are resetting to zero on January 1st every year all hope is gone for most amateur photographers. People are closing their Shutterstock accounts and this is what I'm planning to do too. Since I regret the time I put into building my portfolio on Shutterstock I'd like to present my case to you - maybe I can save you some time and some needless work. I do acknowledge that Shutterstock may still work well for some photographers but quite certainly not for many.
