French-Moroccan pop artist NORA has left a lasting impression on Montreal’s music scene performing in music collectives around the city and she shows no signs of slowing down.
Her brand of alternative r&b music can be described as music that seamlessly moves across genres like pop, neo-soul, funk and jazz, with hints of afro rhythms - which she claims is a direct reference to her musical upbringing and early cultural experiences.
The singer / songwriter releases debut single and music video for “Bad at Love” on November 29th. This is the first release off her highly anticipated first album of two, Grounding Place Vol I., out in spring 2020.

Nora Toutain, chanteuse franco-marocaine, évolue depuis ces cinq dernières années sur la scène Soul/Rnb Montréalaise.
Son aisance et son énergie sur scène charme son public, qui l’a décrit souvent comme une “personnalité solaire”. Enracinée dans un style éclectique de part ses influences diverses, sa musique est un métissage d'expériences, de cultures et d'émotions, canalisée dans l'esprit du moment. Nora Toutain joue avec son timbre “soulful” sur des rythmes et les influences diverses: Pop, RnB, Jazz, Soul et parfois même Gnawa/Afro-Pop.
Elle a fait ses débuts avec le collectif d’improvisation Kalmunity, avec lequel elle a pu participer au Festival International de Jazz de Montreal l’été 2017. Elle vient également de completer son Baccalauréat en Interpretation Chant Jazz à l’Université de Montréal, en mai 2018.
Debut, elle travail sur mon premier album qu’elle compte nous dévoiler au printemps 2020!
