Arrays are introduced in Eureka Math Grade 3 Module 1 Lesson 1. This video describes an array in multiplication, including rows and columns.
An array is a math model that we use for multiplication. It is made up of rows and columns.
A row is horizontal. Each row represents a group. The number of rows is the first factor in a multiplication expression.
A column is vertical. The number of columns is the number in each group. The number of columns is the second factor in a multiplication expression.
