The San Antonio Spurs struck gold when they won the NBA draft lottery which put them in position to take Victor Wembayma with the number 1 pick in the 2023 NBA draft. Victor is widely considered the best prospect since LeBron. Drafting Wemby with the 1st overall pick could be the start of a new dynasty, similar to how the Spurs drafting Tim Duncan in 1997 was the start of their first dynasty. The Spurs did a great job of building around Duncan over the years which is why San Anthonio went on to win 5 championships. And it’s wise that the Spurs are bringing Duncan back to the organization to mentor Wemby. But things aren’t only looking up in San Antonio because they just drafted Wemby, this is a team with some excellent young players, along with cap space and draft capital to further improve the roster.
