Just a quick video showing you have to chance how much ram minecraft can use.
1) Before doing this if you don't already know how much ram your pc has please stop the video and go look on google how to find how much ram your pc has i didn't add that into the video as it's different depending on what version of windows/mac you are using.
2) Open the minecraft launcher and click on Launch Options
3) click Add New
4) Give the profile a name can be anything you want and select the version you want to use 1.10, 1.11 etc.
5) Go down to Jvm Arguments and make sure you click the little button next to it so it turns green.
6) Now if you haven't read number one please do, Now that you know how much ram your pc has 1024MB = 1G or 1 gigabyte i would suggest you give minecraft no more than half of the ram your pc has because if you give it more your pc may start running slow when you are playing minecraft and that will make your fps drop
7) Change -Xmx1G replace the "1" with how much ram you would like to give it remember 1024MB = 1G or 1 gigabyte in the video i changed mine to 3G meaning 3072MB or 3 gigabyte
8) Save the profile and go back to the News page and select the profile you just made from the drop down menu
9) Start minecraft and have fun.
