Online Filmmaking Courses - Are they Worth it?
Is taking online filmmaking courses worth your time? Do they give you the tools you need to go out and make your film? We're talking about the nuts and bolts aspects of making a movie. Some courses focus on how to shoot scenes, or how to light, or how to direct. You could also take classes on screenwriting, editing, or sound mixing.
Is it still worth your time and money to take online filmmaking courses? Are they better than actually making films with like-minded people? Do you learn enough from them to make it as a filmmaker?
The key with any online filmmaking course is the old saying, "You can't learn to swim on a chalkboard." Eventually, you have to get in the pool. And as a filmmaker, this means you need to learn everything you can, but you ultimately need to take action!
