Deadlock Detailed: Lash
Competitive fighting has been a part of the human experience ever since the Roman Coliseum. Many stories focused on the greatest fights of history, such as David and Goliath, Beowulf and Grendel, and Caesar’s crossing of the Rubicon. The biggest rivalry in all of deadlock, outside of finding competent teammates in solo queue (please add draft), is that between Lash and Bebop, the stevedore strongman with an ego to challenge the gods and a humble robot fighting to help treat his creator’s unknown illness. What makes this particular rivalry so memorable?

Deadlock is an upcoming third-person shooter and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed and published by Valve. The game features two teams with six players, with the goal being to destroy the enemy "patron", a floating orb entity. Initially known as Neon Prime, Deadlock was first leaked to the public in May 2024 while its Steam page was published in August. It has since remained an invite-only game, reaching a concurrent player count of over 160,000 in September 2024.
The Six Heroes update was made on the 18th of August 2025 and had introduced the new characters of Mina, Victor, The Doorman, Drifter, Paige and Billy.
Steam Machine is a series of small form factor gaming computers by Valve, designed to operate SteamOS to provide a home game console-like experience. The first iteration of the Steam Machine was developed in collaboration with several computer vendors who were engaged with Valve to develop their own versions of Steam Machines for retail, offering additional options atop Valve's requirements such as dual-booting options with Windows and the ability to upgrade the computer. The second iteration is developed by Valve themselves. Consumers could digitally purchase video games on their Steam Machine through Valve's namesake Steam storefront.
To support the Steam Machine and SteamOS, Valve released the Steam Controller, a customizable game controller with touchpad-based haptic feedback, and the Steam Link, a device that allows consumers with Steam software to stream content to a monitor. Following a two-year testing period, Steam Machines and its related hardware were released on November 10, 2015. By 2018, many Steam Machine models were no longer offered on the Steam store. On November 12, 2025, Valve announced a new, singular iteration of the Steam Machine designed internally by the company, set to release in early 2026 as part of a broader Steam hardware lineup, including the next-generation Steam Controller.
Since Deadlock was officially announced in August 2024, Valve has worked on adding anti-cheat detection. In February 2025, Valve published an update in which it lowered the number of lanes from four to three. Later in May 2025, Valve published an update in which the shop and items saw changes,[21] while in August, the game's visual style was overhauled and 6 new characters were added one by one through an in-game vote. In January 2026, the Old Gods, New Blood update was released, adding vote for six new characters, two items, and the Street Brawl mode. The new characters added were Apollo, Celeste, Graves, Rem, Silver and Venator.
