Massive Mangrove destruction along Moira Riverbank sparks outrage
Mangroves that protect against flooding and support marine life are facing alleged large-scale destruction along the Moira riverbank, prompting a fresh inspection by Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority officials. The inspection followed a complaint by Dr Nerissa Miranda, who urged the public to report environmental violations and prevent further damage. Goa Green Brigade Convenor Avertino Miranda said the destruction poses a serious threat to biodiversity and increases flooding risks, demanding immediate action against those responsible.
