Your mind is preoccupied with your survival and programmed to expect the worst, so it avoids risks. It likes habits, routines, familiar faces, and well-trodden paths, even if they don't bring you happiness. This talk reflects on the role of learned beliefs in our social behavior. A professor of Spanish Language and Literature, writer, and columnist, he holds degrees in Hispanic Philology and French Philology and is currently completing his Psychology internship. His curiosity about different educational systems led him to live in France and Poland. One of his passions is exploring the connections between different artistic languages to delve into the universal themes that permeate literature, painting, music, film, and video games. He discovered literature as a child in a neighborhood courtyard through flamenco. He fell in love with it and began a thesis studying the relationship between flamenco and highbrow literature. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
