Affinity Photo - Covert Photo Into A Basic Or Detailed Sketch (black and white or coloured)
A video tutorial to show you how to use Affinity Photo to convert a photo into a pencil type sketch but in 3 different ways.
Basic Sketch - a rough outline sketch, that may not suit all images if there is too much detail available or there is very little detail to work with because the image is too dark for example.
Mid-Way Sketch - Has more detail picked out than the basic sketch, maybe best suited for just about most photo. Can add some colour but not all Blending Modes work too well.
Detailed Sketch - This method will bring out as much detail as possible. You can even finish off with, adding some colour back. Adaptation of a written Photoshop tutorial from the Photoshop Essential website.
Whichever method you choose to use, it would be nice if you could make a Macro of it for future use. Only trouble is, Affinity Photo will not let you select various layers while recording a Macro. So only the Basic Sketch and Mid-Way Sketch methods lend themselves to being made into a Macro. I will add these Macro's to the 'Files' sections of both the Facebook groups this tutorial is being made for.
For users of Serif’s older PC Photo editing program, PhotoPlus all of the above methods of making a sketch out of an image are possible. Some menu options will be in different places, but they are there if you look. In fact, PhotoPlus has a 4th method not doable in Affinity Photo.
