Working of 7segment with 7447 decoder
In this above video, we are going to learn how 7segment work with7447 decoder. Here we required first a proteus circuit simulation software then go for part list first take 7447 decoder again type 7seg and take red 7segment common anode display, after that going to part list take debugging tools going to right side and select Logic state (latched source) after collecting all parts, select all the parts one by one and place it on sketch board.
7seg Common Cathode-
In common cathode, all the LED segment joint together to logic ‘0’ and individual segment logic ‘1’ and current limiting to anode of particular segment.
7seg common Anode-
In common anode, all the LED segment are joint together by logic ‘1’ and the individual segment are illuminated by logic ‘0’ and current limiting to cathode of particular segment
Designing & Construction
In video you can see that first we place a 7segment common anode after that place 7447 decoder and connect it to the 7segment parallelly after this connection, connect 4 and 3 shorted to 5 of 7447 decoder and giving the power supply to it and also give a power supply to segment as shown in video.
Take logic state for applying input in the form of binary code and connect it to 7447 decoder as shown in circuit. And giving name to logic state -A0,A1,A2,A3. Now our circuit is ready for getting result.
Working-
Here we have a pdf for 7447 decoder on our desktop open it and scroll down for Truth Table. In the truth table showing the value of 0 to 15 and according to its low(L) or high value(H) set the input address line i.e. A0,A1,A2,A3
For ‘0’ -all the inputs are low (L) and going to play the circuit here all the inputs are zero means low showing the result on display is ‘0’ (checking for inputs we have a programmer calculator which is already build in your computer checking for the binary (BIN) input to decimal (Dec), on a display showing result)
For ‘1’- going to the pdf which we already open and see the inputs for1.In the pdf only A0 has high input and A1, A2, A3 has low inputs going to proteus and give 1 to A0 and other three are 0 now the result is display on 7segment display check it in programmer calculator for binary and decimal also.Similar Process we are using for 0 to 9.
For ‘10’ Again going to pdf and see the inputs for 10. A3 and A1 is high and A2,A0 is low.Goto Proteus and give the inputs 1 to Addressing line A3,A1 and displaying the result on 7segment.Here we have a notation i.e. numerical designation in pdf see the notation for 10 and we are obtaining 10 like that on display.From 10 to 15 same process we are going
Save the design :go to file and save design as 7seg with 7447
