Querétaro's Gallos Blancos took advantage of their home field, defeating San Luis 2-1 in the first leg of the promotion playoff to the top division. Roberto Nurse put the home side ahead in the 52nd minute, Miguel Ángel Salcedo increased the lead in the 73rd minute, and Erick Marín pulled one back for the visitors in the 85th minute. The final score was 2-1.
The second leg was played on Saturday, June 11, at 7:00 PM at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras. In the first minute, H. Jiménez put San Luis ahead with a powerful header from a corner kick, sending the ball into the back of the net. After a hard-fought game, the match went to extra time, and it wasn't until the second period of extra time that Alvin Mendoza sent in a cross, which Ariel González headed home, scoring the goal that secured San Luis's return to the top flight.
