🖨️ This experiment uses Wave Overhangs for OrcaSlicer,
an experimental feature created by Dennis Klappe.
🚀 His OrcaWaveOverhangs project allows printing extreme overhangs
reducing the need for supports.
😤 The big problem with overhangs
is that the printer needs to support each layer
on something solid.
📐 When an area is too steep,
the plastic is printed in mid-air,
deforms due to gravity,
and supports are usually needed.
🧱 Supports help,
but they also add time,
use material,
and often leave unsightly marks on the part.
🔥 The idea behind this technique
is to take advantage of the viscosity of molten plastic.
🧩 Instead of falling immediately,
each new line adheres to the previous one
and has time to cool before deforming.

without relying on so many extra structures.
