A direct drive plenum fan is a type of ventilation system commonly used in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) applications. It consists of a motor mounted directly to the fan wheel, eliminating the need for a belt and pulley system. This design offers increased efficiency, reduced maintenance needs, and quieter operation than belt-driven fans. The fan pulls air into an enclosed space called a plenum, a ductwork chamber that distributes the conditioned air to different areas of a building. This type of fan is favored for its simplicity, reliability, and energy efficiency.
