Create a Free Random Student Name Generator for Your Classes
Teaching synchronous hybrid courses means a lot of my students are participating in my classes via Zoom rather than in person. Most students choose not to use the webcam function, and with the amount of screen sharing I do, there's not much opportunity to see them on screen anyway.
Since my Zoom students rarely volunteer to add their own thoughts in a discuss or answer questions I ask, I end up picking them at random. But, it can't really be random when I'm the one doing the picking. And I don't like how it feels to be the one to decide which students is put on the spot at any given time. So, I'm going to create a random name generator for students for free using Flippity.
