One reason to use Waves J37 before L3-16 limiter in the master

To meet our #loudness standards we had to reduce 15dB in the multiband limiter on the #master (Note: we reduced the threshold 15dB, the signal is not compressed more than 2-3dB. Read the answer to the pinned comment for the explanation), this resulted in the signal being, in fact, compressed, which is visible as an orange line on the screen. To alleviate this, we have increased the threshold of the priority curve in the most affected areas to balance the surplus energy towards less compressed areas. Even so, we still have a large amount of GR, especially in the areas of snare and kick. Now let's see what happens when we activate a tape machine that we have inserted in front of the limiter...
Here we used the default preset, then we reduced Wow and Flutter to the minimum and adjusted the input gain until the needle touched the red zone (with LEVEL LINK activated to not affect the final volume). Without J37 more transients reach the limiter. With J37 they are controlled by the soft tape #saturation, still the volume remains the same and the tone only gets a nice analog flavor...
