Start by learning how to cut out images using the quick selection tool and the magic wand in combination wish the amazing select subject feature and select & mask. Once your images are cut out we transform them and move them into place and then mask out the foreground where the road or railway is. We then create a shadow (using the brush tool and drop shadow in layer styles), match the color of our subject to the background using color balance and levels, generate a realistic depth of field (background blur), and then finally we enhance our final image by applying the camera raw filter (adding vibrance, texture and clarity).
