These short films were created and funded by VicHealth and ANROWS in collaboration with R4Respect to help communicate the findings from the National Community Attitudes towards Violence against Women Survey, or the NCAS.

NCAS data tells us about people’s attitudes to violence against women and gender equality, what influences their attitudes, and if there has been a change in attitudes over time. The youth report presents key findings from the 2017 NCAS focusing on results for young Australians aged 16-24. Read the full report at https://ncas.anrows.org.au/

This video highlights issues of consent and victim blaming around sharing nude images, especially the importance of positive bystander action when confronted with sexism and disrespectful behaviour.

R4Respect was first started in part out of a reaction to the findings from the 2013 NCAS data, which showed that young people held problematic attitudes on violence against women. We want to help young people to keep improving attitudes about gender equality and be the generation to end violence against women.

Violence can be prevented and it is up to all of us to play our part.
