Moanin, as played by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers is a great groovy Jazz Bluesy tune. The Moanin jazz standard definitely belongs in your jazz repertoire.
I'll be showing you the Moanin guitar chords and how to weave the melody in between. This is called chord melody playing or a jazz solo guitar piece.
The A section is very Blues like. It uses the Fm pentatonic and two chords. The B section sounds different, is way more busy and has all those great Moanin guitar chords in it. I'll show them note for note, slow and easy.
I'll show everxthing slowly and there's also a slow tempo playthrough towards the end of this Moanin guitar tutorial.
I've made the Moaning guitar Tab and a Moanin jazz backing track, which sounds really cool. So you can startto play along right away. It's a fun song to play and not too difficult.
There is also a Moanin Charles Mingus version, but this here is a Moanin Art Blakey guitar lesson. Both versions are very cool, though.
