Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is a space where education, work, and social and economic development converge. Its purpose is to provide young people and adults with employment and lifelong learning opportunities.
Since 2015, the Norwegian Embassy and ECLAC's Social Development, Gender Affairs, and Economic Development Divisions have published more than a dozen studies on the topic, provided technical assistance in several Latin American and Caribbean countries, conducted a series of seminars and workshops, and participated in various discussion forums.
This video illustrates the main recommendations and results of this effort to strengthen this type of education to move toward inclusive development that combats social and gender inequalities, eliminates poverty, and consolidates the economic, social, and cultural rights of the entire region.
