Simon Rosser is professor and director of the HIV/STI Intervention and Prevention Studies (HIPS) Program in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health. He received his M.A. (hons) in psychology from the University of Auckland, a Ph.D. in behavioral medicine from Flinders University of South Australia, and his M.P.H. in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. He also has a postdoctoral specialization in sexology also from the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on the design and testing of “next generation” HIV prevention interventions for high risk populations especially men who have sex with men, persons living with HIV, and structural levels studies of the impact of the Internet and laws and policies related to homosexuality on gay communities and alcohol-related HIV risk behavior.
