Christmas panel in the Eglomize technique master class-Decor-Cradle of Art
The title of today's workshop is "Christmas Panel in the Eglomise Technique."
What is this technique?
It's an image on the reverse side of glass.
Eglomise was most often used to decorate picture and mirror frames, as well as furniture details. The term "eglomise" originally appeared in the lexicon of French antique dealers in the second half of the 18th century: it derived from the name of the Parisian draftsman and frame maker Jean-Baptiste Glomi. He was considered the first to use a special technique of painting on glass, using gold and silver foil to frame graphic sheets with glass frames.
Of course, the true eglomise technique is very complex.
Today, I will be using some of this technique in my workshop.
The main techniques I used to create the panel were: embedding the image in glass, working with a stencil and crystal paste, and 3D gel. Working with sheet and liquid gold leaf.

Photo frame, Kiva 70 furniture varnish, decoupage cards, universal primer, 3D gel, crystal paste, adhesive stencil, gilding glue, sheet gold leaf, gold leaf varnish, acrylic paint, chalk paint, liquid gold leaf, synthetic brushes.
