Why is there a Dragon on the Flag of Wales?
We went to the mountains of North Wales, to visit the place associated with one of Britain's oldest Myths - The Red Dragon.

This is actually two legends, "Ludd and Llefelys" recorded in the Mabinogion and "Merlin and Vortigern" first recorded in the Historia Brittonum by Nennius and later by Geoffrey of Monmouth in "A History of the Kings of Britain".
Both stories contain dragons and this is the place they are associated with, a hill-fort and ruined castle in the far west of Britain. We are going to go on a walkabout and explore the archeology here, and I will tell you both stories.
